It was not my intent to write about this political debacle but the cabinet reshuffle that occurred last week just gave me a lot of material to write on.
I got inspired, funnily inspired by what happens especially in and around the ANC, the governing political party in SA. It seems like a fiesta of ANC members where one invitee eats as much as possible because the party is ending soon.
It goes that the king’s council is only made of his family. That is pretty much what is happening with the ANC. If one considered family by the president, then that one is eligible to sit on his table and eats with him. So why is the ex-minister of finance not part of that table as well?
Someone told me that it is because he reads numbers so well that the other siblings reported him to the patriarch. It is so funny because that only son was probably one of the few people who could reinstate the fallen image of the family.
The ANC family gave this country democracy or fought for it more than any other political party. True, they have to take the credit for that and can even save that credit for upcoming elections where the falling is much anticipated. After being an opposition party, they have become the ruling partying. They chose to do it following certain codes and practices, which they are going against with all that amalgam that is going on internally.
People, inside the ANC, are divided and the members, powerful or not know who is causing that internal frailty. Is it fear of going on the wrong side of the patriarch that making them rescind their statements in public or what?
Tomorrow, people and other political are planning to march against the cabinet reshuffle that occurred last week. I personally find that very honouring. Stand up for your right and the well-being of this country that welcomed me for a while now.
Politics is not my strong suit but number probably. I am not pro the ex-minister of finance but that man is smart and he can read numbers. Moreover, above everything, he was trying to keep the economy afloat. It does not make sense to evict someone like that in order to be obeyed by those who see obey you. Political advancement can only be achieved because of intellectual confrontation and different perspectives to governing.
South Africa is one the last standing democracy in Africa that does well and which economy of is better than some western countries. It is a pity that a misunderstanding leads to a fallout, which makes the country pays direly.
How can one really fire brilliance, not that it was substituted by something similar? That question is in everyone mind.
We don’t know what internal fight led to it but the general interest of the nation should be put ahead of everything. Also we know that the ex-minister can read number at once, he does not need to rehearse them. Right?
